Torbay Council has announced it will run an incentive scheme to encourage households to increase the amount they recycle.
The council will use a grant from the Department of Communities and Local Government through its Recycling Reward Scheme fund to launch ‘Torbay Green Points’.
The scheme, operated by Local Green Points, will enable residents to earn points, access discounts and special offers and win prizes.
Graham Simmonds, managing director for Local Green Points, said the reward scheme would help the council drive up recycling rates and provide support for community projects and local businesses.
