Orlo, first social media management platform in the world to integrate with Nextdoor

Orlo, the UK’s number one social media management platform, announces a first of its kind API integration with Nextdoor, the neighbourhood network. This means, for the first time, organisations now have the ability to post via a social media management platform onto the community based social media network rather than post natively.

Through the Orlo platform, organisations can now schedule and publish timely, geo-targeted, hyper-local content to reach members on the Nextdoor platform to improve engagement with communities, as well as post the same content to their other social media channels and manage all in one place through the Orlo platform.

The benefit to this is a holistic approach to an organisation’s social media strategy, plus they gain a new level of control over their Nextdoor presence. From the Orlo platform, communications teams can collaborate on content, post approvals with a full audit trail, schedule posts in advance and send across all social channels at the same time.

'As the world’s only social media management platform focused on the public sector, this is a really exciting integration for Orlo customers,' said Hardeep Johal, Head of Product at Orlo.

'Up until this point, organisations have not been able to manage Nextdoor posts through a social media management platform and would have had to manage separately. Now with Orlo having direct access to Nextdoor, we can allow our customers, who are predominately public and third sector organisations, to manage their engagement with Nextdoor communities, as well as existing social channels, from one platform.'

This provides greater opportunity, particularly for the public sector, to geo-target awareness campaigns and to provide vital, timely information on service updates or emergency alerts, in their specific neighbourhood. In turn, increasing resident engagement and building trust within the community.

'Nextdoor is a place for communities to share experiences and connect. Through this integration, public sector organisations, such as local authorities, police forces and NHS boards, will have the ability to confidently manage all posts from the Orlo platform and engage with citizens to build trust further in public services,' concludes Johal.
