The leader of Shropshire Council has apologised after failing to disclose his relationship with the director of an accountancy firm appointed by the council.
An investigation found that the councillor, who was the director of council-owned IP&E, had failed to comply with the council's Code of Conduct by not revealing his relationship with the director of an accountancy firm working with IP&E.
Members of Shropshire Council's Standards Sub-Committee concluded that he had offended against the principles of Integrity, Honesty and Leadership set out in the Council's Code of Conduct by not revealing his relationship to the council.
Cllr Barrow has resigned from his position at IP&E and formally apologised.
There will be no formal hearing.
