Safeguarding partners in Walsall have admitted failing to send a serious case review to the education secretary as required.
The Walsall Safeguarding Partnership has repeatedly refused to publish its review into the largest child sex abuse case investigated by West Midlands Police in order to protect the identity of the victims.
A spokesperson for Walsall Council claimed there was ‘no requirement’ for the partnership to send the report to the secretary of state even though the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children charity said ‘safeguarding partners must send the reports or learning from them’ to the education secretary.
