Cardo Group provides insight into how valuable Frameworx is as a procurement solution image

Frameworx, the social housing procurement framework that is committed to investing in social value and communities, continues to impress with its intuitive and easy-to-use procurement approaches which are seeing high value contracts being mobilised in the social housing sector.

Frameworx was set up in association with the National Housing Maintenance Forum in 2022, as a not-for-profit procurement solution and has agreements in place for Planned and Responsive Maintenance, Net Zero Works, Passive Fire Works, Consultancy Services, Materials Supply, Heating Services and most recently, Estate Services. Works can be procured through either Direct Award or Mini-Competition, supported every step of the way by the Frameworx team.

David Miller, Frameworx Director comments: 'The aim of Frameworx is to provide a simple and compliant procurement solution for housing and service providers. We’ve enjoyed much success from a standing start, having launched an initial round of seven frameworks in the first year, three more in 2022, with more to come this year.

'We’ve recently been talking to service providers and clients to gain insights into their experiences of working with us. One of those providers is Felicity Reilly, Head of Bids at Cardo Group Ltd (formerly the LCB Group Ltd),.who is part of our Responsive Maintenance & Void Property Works and Planned Maintenance Frameworks in the South West, Wales, South East and Greater London regions. They have also just been appointed on to the Disability Adaptations Framework, which goes live on 23rd January, in the South West and Wales.'

Felicity comments: 'As members of the NHMF Service Provider Forum, we were made aware of the many benefits of contracting through Frameworx, and knew it was a priority for us to consider how this new way of procuring would suit ours and our clients’ needs.

Simple and Straightforward

'The beauty of Frameworx is that it is swift and fully compliant, offering a simple submission process, and one that can easily be explained to our clients. The capacity for direct award is very straightforward and means we can offer this proposal to our clients directly.

Smooth Operations

'Our organisation recently won 2 contracts via Frameworx, a Housing Association and a Local Authority based in the South West. One award was for fire remedials and fire door installations across the social housing sector; and the other award was for a client who required retrofitting works across their whole estate.

'The process involved in awarding the contracts was smooth and enabled all works to proceed quickly. Being able to award directly and get the works started was a key consideration for the clients.

Better Value

'Another attractive benefit of Frameworx is the low-cost fee structure. At just 1.5%, we’re able to offer clients much better value on key works. It is also really easy to build in social value commitments to the procurement process, which is one of Frameworx key USPs that we fully endorse.

'In summary, Frameworx offers a fully compliant, simple to use solution for our clients to procure a growing amount of works that considers social value, cost benefits and most importantly, can proceed in a timely fashion with committed service providers like us.' David Miller concludes: 'I’m delighted that Felicity and Cardo Group Ltd are amongst the first to be successfully appointed via Frameworx. Our intention from the start was to simplify procurement and myself and the Frameworx team have been working closely with both housing and service providers to ensure we’re delivering a solution that works for both parties.

'Felicity’s feedback endorses our promise to offer simple tools, cost efficiencies built in and clear and concise communications to all service providers.'
