LGA warning over audit fees

The Local Government Association (LGA) has warned it is ‘very likely' there will be ‘significant' audit fee variations for 2024-25 as the accounts backlog is eliminated.

Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) has proposed a 9.5% increase on the 2023-24 scale fees to cover the ‘additional audit work required under revised standards and a contractual inflationary increase payable to audit firms for 2024-25'.
