Dozens of candidates who ran in last week’s local elections on a pro-Palestinian platform have been elected, according to a new analysis.
More than 40 council members were elected in England after making the conflict in Gaza part of their campaign, the BBC found.
These candidates defeated Labour in at least 12 town halls.
In 58 council wards where more than one in five residents identify as Muslim, Labour's share of the vote was 21% down on 2021.
